Allemano: a classic Italian company changes direction
Founded in 1856 by Giuseppe Allemano, the company was initially dedicated to carpentry and the production of steam rollers for road works, one of which was also used by the municipality of Turin.
In the early 1900s, it produced several measuring tools for use on means of transport such as ships, planes, submarines and the first Italian cars.
Over the decades, the company shifted its focus to specialise in the production and processing of precision tools for the mechanical industry, and in 2010 the Allemano Workshop became authorised to perform Accredia-approved calibrations, supplying calibration services for equipment designed to measure length, shape, roundness and profile, planarity and roughness, force, pressure, hardness, twisting moment, angle and level, mass, temperature, electrical quantities, flue-gas analysers, tool and gas calibration.
The year 2019 saw the launch of the Allemano Time Keepers: a design closely linked to the past and inspired by the pressure gauge mounted on board the FIAT 501 a century ago.
The idea behind the design dates to a year and a half ago when an Allemano Felice Torino pressure gauge was found in Automotoretrò, the classic car show held in Turin, kindling the desire to reconstruct the company history.
